3 Steps To Promoting Your Shows Online

Promote Like A Pro
As a gigging band or artist it’s tough to do a thorough job of getting the word out about where you’re playing. Even if you’re great at keeping your fans informed, it’s pretty tough to manage all of your online touch points to make sure they’re all consistent. How many times have you gotten an email from a fan saying that your Myspace calendar is listing a show that isn’t listed on your website or Facebook? Or your website is still listing that show that was canceled two months ago but you somehow remembered to take it off of your Myspace and Facebook? Maybe you don’t even list your shows online because it’s too much hassle? Doh! It happens more than we’d like to admit.

A little about Reverbnation.com
The odds are pretty good that you’ve heard of Reverbnation.com. It’s an artist marketing platform that is so full featured that I’d be crazy to try and tell you about everything it does, but here’s the “in-a-nutshell” explanation: Reverbnation.com gives you a free artist profile where you can post shows, videos, pictures, and merchandise, then use widgets to place this content anywhere on the web, complete with extensive statistics that will allow you to track just about anything. It also includes an artist email platform that allows you to keep in touch with your fans with zip code targeting (Hey Billings! We’re playing in your town in two weeks!).
Obviously I’m a big fan of Reverbnation.com but only because I’ve been using it for my band, The Clintons for over three years and I can honestly say there’s nothing else on the net that can touch it, all for three easy installments of FREE.
I recommend you get started by setting up a free RN profile and adding a song or two and some show dates then watch as your shows magically appear in the show listings on MontanaLiveMusic.com and MontanaMusicians.com. If you have any questions, I’d love to hear from you in the comment section below!
