The square-shouldered 14-fret dreadnought is the most popularsteel-string acoustic guitar body shape in the world. While Collings iscertainly not the only company to build them, they bring a new tonalclarity to the depth and warmth usually associated with such a large,deep-bodied guitar. Although its bass response makes the dreadnought ideal for vocal accompaniment, Collings versions are also often employed by bluegrass flatpickers who must compete with inherently louder instruments such as banjos and fiddles. The wide range of woods and neck sizes offered allow dreadnought fans to find a Collings model ideally suited to their playing style and tonal preference.
*This guitar includes the new traditional Collings made hardshell case.

Our Grand Concert 12-string guitars have been a revelation to players who’ve otherwise avoided 12-strings due to their traditionally bulkier size. In addition to the compact cutaway body, the 12-fret neck and 24-7/8-inch scale length translate into a physically inviting playing experience with a supremely comfortable handfeel. Sonically, the smaller body produces a more controlled 12-string voice that sits beautifully in a mix for recording applications. With the 362ce, a hardwood mahogany top (paired with blackwood back and sides) lends a bit of natural compression to the response, helping to create a balanced output across the tonal spectrum while still capturing the 12-string’s beautiful octave shimmer. Visually, the shaded edgeburst top and all-satin finish conjure a dusky vintage look. The guitar comes equipped with Taylor’s ES2 electronics and includes a deluxe hardshell case.
Taylor 712e 12-Fret Western Sunburst
A Western Sunburst top and slotted headstock bring refined modern-vintage appeal to this 12-fret Grand Concert, featuring Indian rosewood paired with Lutz spruce. The 12-fret’s shorter neck meets the body at the 12th fret instead of the 14th, which shifts the bridge position closer to the center of the lower bout. The result is impressive tonal warmth and power from the smaller body style. Rosewood back and sides flavor the sound with a sweeping frequency range, while Lutz spruce yields a dynamic response. The compact body emphasizes clarity and balance, and helps keep the overtones in check, making this a great option for recording both solo and with other instruments. The 24-7/8-inch neck adds slinky comfort to the playing experience. Wood-rich aesthetic details include Hawaiian koa binding, a herringbone-style rosette featuring Douglas fir with maple/black accents, and bias-cut Douglas fir top trim, while the “weathered brown” pickguard design complements the earthy color tones of the rosewood and wood trim. Taylor’s onboard ES2 electronics supply a top-notch pickup and preamp for impeccable amplified acoustic tone.
