Fastest Feet Contest – A Success!

Thanks to all the participants involved in the first ever “Fastest Feet Contest.” We had a great turnout and the competition was heated. There were two rounds: the Speed Round (fastest continuous double bass for one minute), and the Style Round (best overall style incorporating the double bass technique). In the end Jarrett Payne took the Speed Round and Theron Fountaine took the Style Round, both receiving a $100 gift certificate to Music Villa. Thanks again to all the participants, and we look forward to seeing/hearing you again next year!

This is your chance to prove it!
Pearl Drums and Music Villa are hosting a FASTEST FEET CONTEST! The contest will take place on Monday, June 1, 2009 at 5 pm on the Music Villa Sound Stage. (Please arrive no later than 4:30 to register).
You must use the new Pearl Demon Pedal. (note: this pedal is very versatile and can be adjusted to your liking).
There will be 2 rounds of performance:
1). The Speed Round: fastest double bass pedal recorded while playing steady for 1 solid minute.
2). The Style Round: You can play a combination of any 1 minute solo that incorporates double bass.
Drums provided. Just bring your feet. FREE for all to watch.
Prizes for all contestants. First place from each round will receive a $100 gift certificate for Music Villa.

That’s cool but… why does it have to be the Pearl Eliminator Demon Drives??? The Axis longboards are the lightest and fastest pedals!!! (Note: I said the fastest not the best… the best could even be DW 5000′s!!!)
what the heck if top finalist can do that fast on a double bass, his bass drum//pedal would be slaughtered, not to mention his leg muscle.
We had a little meter malfunction, but the top finalist were somewhere around 700 to 800.
what kind of numbers did the winner and other finalists put up in the speed round
