A Look at the Collings Pete Huttlinger Signature OM1
CATEGORY: Product News

A Collings Guitar With Tone, Playability, and Purpose

Known for his amazing fingerstyle guitar playing, in 2000 Pete Hutterling won the National Fingerstyle Championship. Before his early passing in January of 2016, Pete played around the world with legends such as John Denver and LeAnn Rimes.

In addition to fingerstyle guitar, Pete was passionate about fly fishing. Going all the way back to 1995 when he released his debut album, Catch & Release. The title track was used as the theme for ESPN’s “Fly Fishing America.”

Collings Guitars combined Pete's two loves in the Pete Huttlinger Signature OM1 acoustic guitar.

It is worth noting that aside from being a beautiful guitar, proceeds from each guitar will benefit The Pete Huttlinger Fund for Adult Congenital Cardiac Research at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

The idea for this model was introduced to Collings from Pete's longtime cardiologist & friend Dr. Frank Fish. For over 15 years, Dr. Fish helped Pete with his illness, and over that time became great friends.

This signature model is built with a Honduran Mahogany back and sides, Sitka spruce top and an ebony fretboard. The fretboard is adorned with Mother of Pearl, hand engraved fly fishing inlays.

The comfortable OM shape of this guitar is both versatile and comfortable while offering excellent playability for finger-style or flat-picking.

Tone, playability and a purpose. The Collings Pete Huttlinger Signature OM1 is a guitar that you will treasure for a lifetime.
