I have been performing and teaching music for over 10 years now. As a music major at Colby College, I studied the violin, guitar, and piano in addition to composition and music theory. While living in Cork, Ireland, I played traditional Irish fiddle and guitar music while performing in an Irish band. In Bozeman, I play banjo in a bluegrass band called Sticky Fingers.
I teach all abilities and styles of music, specializing in bluegrass/ folk, jazz, rock and classical. Please contact me at the Music Arts Center (406) 586-2411, or on my cell phone at (302) 379-6914 for more information.

I teach guitar, mandolin, fiddle, bass, banjo, and piano in a variety of styles, to all ages and abilities. I specialize in bluegrass and swing, but also teach other styles, including rock, folk, blues, and classical. I teach reading music and learning by ear. I style each persons lesson to their own interests and abilities. I was classically trained on piano from age 8 to 17, when i started guitar. Soon after followed mandolin, bass, banjo and fiddle. I lived in missoula from 1980 to 1997, playing in many bands including Pinegrass, a mainstay of the bluegrass scene. I lived in northern California from 1997 to 2008, teaching continually, playing in many bands, and going to all the fiddle contests. I won first in the picking at the Western Open in Redding 2 times on mandolin and guitar, second at the state contest 3 times on guitar, and had many top 5 finishes on fiddle, including a first at Blue Lake, and 3rd at Cloverdale, and fifth in the state contest.
