Tony Franklin

The following are excerpts from his website, www.tonyfranklin.com

Few bassists over the past two decades are more synonymous with the fretless bass than Tony Franklin. In January 2006 – Fender proudly introduced the new Tony Franklin Signature Model Fretless Precision Bass® guitar. The renowned bassist – who juggles a professional music career while also handling Artist Relations duties for Fender Musical Instruments Corp. – helped model this bass – the instrument that has seen work with the likes of Jimmy Page, Paul Rodgers, Whitesnake, Blue Murder, numerous sessions and Franklin’s own successful solo career. Tony also performs clinics for SWR and Fender.

Tony Franklin has worked in the entertainment industry for most of his life, born into a large musical family. His experiences have been wide and varied; from sold out arena rock shows, to classical orchestral performances and numerous recording sessions in the world’s best studios. He has appeared on more than 150 albums, including recent multi-platinum sellers.

Eddie T

We are blessed to have Eddie T as our principle bass teacher here at Music Villa. Eddie has prepared a great clinic on “The Bassist in the Studio”. As a player and educator Eddie continues to serve our community.

Ryan Beck

Ryan is a long time BBB participant and delivered a wonderful clinic in 2003. He is an educator in Missoula and a great guy. We are very happy to have him back with us in 2007.

Geno Kreis

Geno delivered a clinic on “How to Get a Good Tone” in 1997, we have had requests for an encore of this clinic. This year we are offering this clinic at 4:30 on Friday followed by the Locals concert.

PRS Blues Legend Bugs Henderson

Bugs Henderson was born in Palm Springs, Calif., in 1944 and grew up in Tyler, Texas. At age 6 he picked up his first guitar, and in the early 1960s he began working in a record store in Tyler. Beginning his own band, the Sensors, at age 16 he soon joined his friend, Ronnie Weiss, in a band called Mouse and the Traps. Mouse and the Traps charted its first song, “Public Execution” in 1966. This is where he earned his name “Bugs” overshadowing his real name, Buddy.

Henderson has played with icons such as B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Ted Nugent, James Barton, the Allman Brothers, Leon Russell, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and his good friend Freddie King. One of Bugs’ guitars hangs in the Hard Rock Cafe in Dallas.
