Taylor’s 500 Series Dreadnoughts boast several uniquely compelling design features, including a slightly shorter 24-7/8-inch scale length and a V-carve neck with a slotted headstock. The result is an inviting handfeel with less string tension — making string bends fun — and matches up well with chord strummers and vocals. The dynamic response of the Lutz spruce top works especially well with the dry, woody sound of mahogany, producing a balanced voice with crisp highs and soft lows. With Taylor’s Performance bracing optimized for the Dreadnought shape and the model’s other features, the 510e makes a musically versatile instrument that blends well with other instruments, either unplugged or amplified with Taylor’s Expression System 2 electronics.
Martin 00-42SC John Mayer
This "00" 12-fret guitar boasts solid cocobolo sides, back and headplate, gorgeous "42" style appointments, and is inspired by the 00-45SC built in collaboration with John Mayer in 2012. The "SC" stands for stagecoach, harkening back to an era when guitars were taken on trains, wagons, and horses for bringing people together in song.
Collings 01 Mahogany Top
This Collings single 0 features the same short scale found on the 12-fret 00 but with the added power and tonal advantages of the 14-fret neck joint. Although measuring only 13.5 inches in width (smaller than a typical classical guitar), the Collings 0 has tone and volume that belies its first impression as being less than full-sized. It can double as a travel guitar or a small OM, performing both roles equally well. The same neck and woods options offered with larger Collings models are available on the 0 as well, giving players an almost infinite range of tonal possibilities. This particular Single 0 was ordered with a Mahogany top to give the guitar a darker woodier tone and a great old-time look.
Taylor K24ce V-Class (2018)
Among the first Taylor models to be voiced with our patented V-Class™ bracing, this beautiful all-koa Grand Auditorium will inspire players in both looks and sound. The hardwood koa top helps produce a balanced response across the tonal spectrum, with a clear, focused voice that lends itself to amplification through our onboard ES2 electronics. With the V-Class treatment, players can expect more dynamic range, more sustain, and notes that sound more in tune with each other than ever before, giving chords a more sonically pleasing character along the entire fretboard. Together with our popular Grand Auditorium body, the musical versatility makes this a guitar that can cover a lot of ground. Visually, koa’s shimmering figure is highlighted with organically styled appointments that include our new Spring Vine inlay in maple, with maple binding and top trim adding a creamy counterpoint against the shaded edgeburst finish that surrounds the entire guitar.
