Within our guitar line, our Presentation Series stands out as the paragon of Taylor luthiery. This limited edition 12-fret Grand Auditorium showcases those same top-tier aesthetic virtues with the breathtaking pairing of striped West African ebony, sourced from Taylor’s Crelicam ebony mill in Cameroon, with richly variegated sinker redwood. The tight-grained redwood tops were sliced from old-growth logs reclaimed from the bottom of a California river, whose mineral-rich river bed infused the wood with an array of color hues. Sonically, redwood blends the warm overtone complexity of cedar with the attacking power of spruce, while ebony yields some of rosewood’s bell-like fidelity but with the more linear output of maple. The magic here is in the fusion of these tonal nuances with a 12-fret Grand Auditorium body. Players can expect a warm, balanced response that packs an extra punch with the help of the redwood top and the 12-fret’s shifted bridge location. The guitar is detailed with our finest Presentation Series appointments, including ebony binding with a beveled ebony armrest, elaborate Nouveau paua inlays and edge trim, and gold Gotoh tuners with a 21:1 tuning ratio for maximum precision. The guitar comes equipped with Expression System® 2 electronics and ships in a deluxe hardshell case.
This cutaway edition of our 100 Series Dreadnought gives flatpickers and strummers an open road to explore the upper register, rewarding the excursion with strong, clear treble notes that will make solos shine. The guitar features Taylor’s signature thin-profile neck and a hand-friendly 1 11/16-inch nut width. The layered walnut construction is both resilient and visually appealing, and together with the solid Sitka spruce top, projects a great sound that will improve with age. Taylor’s ES2 pickup cleanly translates the guitar’s tonal nuances into a warm amplified acoustic voice that lets your playing come through loud and clear.
Collings D1 Adirondack 1 11/16" Nut Width
The square-shouldered 14-fret dreadnought is the most popularsteel-string acoustic guitar body shape in the world. While Collings iscertainly not the only company to build them, they bring a new tonalclarity to the depth and warmth usually associated with such a large,deep-bodied guitar. Although its bass response makes the dreadnought ideal for vocal accompaniment, Collings versions are also often employed by bluegrass flatpickers who must compete with inherently louder instruments such as banjos and fiddles. The wide range of woods and neck sizes offered allow dreadnought fans to find a Collings model ideally suited to their playing style and tonal preference.
*This guitar includes the new traditional Collings made hardshell case.
Journey Carbon Fiber Travel Acoustic, Orange
Patented removable neck system allows this carbon fiber acoustic travel guitar to collapse into an airline carry-on size case for the traveling musician or backpacker. Carbon fiber composite material provides durability and can function in any climate without cracking, warping or changing tone.
The Overhead carries a clear resonant tone with surprising volume and bass. The relatively small body size is able to carry a full sound through the use of a Manzer wedge which increases the air volume while keeping the top of the guitar close to the body for comfort. Also provides access to the upper frets through a Scoopaway™ at the neck.
