Mahogany’s meaty midrange and fundamental focus take on another level of boldness and depth, especially in the lower midrange, with the spruce-top Grand Symphony 516ce. The use of Lutz spruce, a natural hybrid of Sitka and White spruce that resembles Adirondack spruce in its tonal output, bolsters the sonic horsepower, especially in tandem with Taylor’s Performance bracing, which is optimized for each body shape to bring out more volume and richness. Appointments include faux tortoise shell binding and pickguard, a rosette of faux tortoise shell framed by grained ivoroid, and a grained ivoroid Century fretboard inlay. Other playing features include a Florentine cutaway and Taylor’s natural-sounding Expression System 2 pickup and preamp.

Taylor 612e 12-Fret
Our 12-fret Grand Concerts feature a shifted neck-to-body relationship, shifting the bridge location in a way that adds robust punch to the midrange notes. Together with the revoiced design details of the 600 Series, players are in for a treat. The smaller body and short-scale neck make for an intimate and comfortable playing experience, while the tonal refinements to the bracing and other materials serve up an inspiring mix of warmth, richness and volume, especially for a small-body guitar. Every material component has been optimized, from the wood and finish thicknesses to the internal bracing — customized for each body shape — to the special roasting process used on the spruce tops to activate a super-responsive, played-in sound. Aesthetic upgrades include a rich, hand-rubbed “Brown Sugar” stain on the back and sides, a new fretboard inlay that carries over to include an inlaid ebony backstrap, ebony and grained ivoroid trim, and a striped ebony pickguard. Taylor’s Expression System® 2 pickup add performance versatility.

Taylor PS14ce 12-Fret LTD
Within our guitar line, our Presentation Series stands out as the paragon of Taylor luthiery. This limited edition 12-fret Grand Auditorium showcases those same top-tier aesthetic virtues with the breathtaking pairing of striped West African ebony, sourced from Taylor’s Crelicam ebony mill in Cameroon, with richly variegated sinker redwood. The tight-grained redwood tops were sliced from old-growth logs reclaimed from the bottom of a California river, whose mineral-rich river bed infused the wood with an array of color hues. Sonically, redwood blends the warm overtone complexity of cedar with the attacking power of spruce, while ebony yields some of rosewood’s bell-like fidelity but with the more linear output of maple. The magic here is in the fusion of these tonal nuances with a 12-fret Grand Auditorium body. Players can expect a warm, balanced response that packs an extra punch with the help of the redwood top and the 12-fret’s shifted bridge location. The guitar is detailed with our finest Presentation Series appointments, including ebony binding with a beveled ebony armrest, elaborate Nouveau paua inlays and edge trim, and gold Gotoh tuners with a 21:1 tuning ratio for maximum precision. The guitar comes equipped with Expression System® 2 electronics and ships in a deluxe hardshell case.
While the Little Martin is our smallest guitar, it is very big on tone, quality and versatility. The LX1 model features a solid Sitka spruce top and mahogany high-pressure laminate HPL back, sides and top. It’s ideal for travel, student practice or for just playing around the house or campfire. This model includes SUSTAINABLE WOOD CERTIFIED parts.
